STYLISH Fiji soccer defender Alvin Singh will not feature for the Men in Black at this year's Battle of the Giants tournament.

Singh is in Australia on personal commitment and has declared his unavailability for the Ba side but will resume duties after the tournament.

Singh, a former Hekari United player, is one of Fiji's top defenders and has proven himself in recent years.

He joins Isimeli Naresia who is recovering from a knee injury he sustained during the Fiji Fact.

However, the double blow is not a worry for the Ba camp as they are optimistic of filling in capable replacements.

Ba team manager Arvin Singh said there would be other capable players who would be available to represent Ba in place of his son.

"Alvin will not play for Ba at this tournament because he has some personal commitment in Australia and he will be back after the tournament," Arvin said.

Ba is drawn in a tough pool with Nadroga, Labasa and defending champions Rewa.

The Men in Black face Nadroga in their opening game on Sunday at Labasa's Subrail Park.

Arvin said preparations were on track for the upcoming tournament.

"Everything is fine with us, we are training and preparing well for the BOG.

"We will not take our opponents lightly but we will give our best shot in each game," he said.

The Ba and Nadroga match kicks off at 11am.
